------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Mar 16 21:48:31 +0000 2008 ------- I can reproduce the effect with a new file as follows: 1. insert a table with 6 rows and 4 columns 2. merge the cells rows 4-6, column 1 3. merge the cells rows 1-3, column 1 4. mark the two merged cells 5. with Table -> Table Properties -> Text flow, change Text direction to "Right-to-left (vertical)" 6. merge the cells rows 1-2, column 1 The effect also appears if after step 5, you change the text direction back to the normal setting.
