Sometimes Writer displays an empty space (that is an empty gray rectangle). To reproduce: - Open a new empty document. - Write some text: "foo" - Select the text, apply "Heading 1" style. - Insert a default header. - In the header insert a field (Insert->Fields->Other->Document->Chapter->Chapter name, Layer 1). - The text "foo" is displayed in the header. - Save and close the document.
