It is possible that Word XP's word count differs from previous versions. This might be worth double checking. also note comment by miller_dscott Thu Mar 25: "Many Asian languages are not counted in words, but in characters. In order for the word count tool to be useful with Asian languages, it needs to be able to distinguish between Asian and non-Asian characters and produce independent counts for Asian characters and non-Asian words.
