The localized hebrew version of Microsoft word (hebrew interface) seems to save files as CTL enabled by default, regardless of the actual language used in the file. I'm assuming this is the case with othe localized CTL versions of word. I will attempt to post and example later on. The infrastructure for a quick patch to resolve this issue seems to exist under: Tools -> options -> language settings -> complex text layout -> general options (Numerals: Arabic/Hindi/System) But changing this either does not work, or only applies to new files.
