For OOo 3.0 beta and final, the package names and versions, where relevant for
the various package formats, should be as follows.

1 Version data in package names:

- ure package in URE and office products: URE version is 1.4.0 (see
<http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/UNO_%40since_Tags>), package name
contains no version data (e.g., openoffice.org-ure-1.4.0-9999.i586.rpm)

- basis layer packages in office products: basis version is 3.0.0, package name
contains version major and minor (e.g.,
openoffice.org3.0-core01-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm)

- OOo brand layer packages in OOo product: OOo version is 3.0.0 (same as basis
version), package name contains version major (e.g.,
openoffice.org3-brand-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm)

- StarOffice brand layer packages in StarOffice product: StarOffice version is
9.0.0, package name contains version major (e.g.,
staroffice9-brand-9.0.0-9999.i586.rpm)

2 Basis vs. brand layer in package names:

Currently basis layer package names are not explicitly flagged as basis layer
(e.g., openoffice.org3.0-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm) and brand layer package
names are explicitly flagged as brand layer (e.g.,
openoffice.org3-brand-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm). Especially for other
products (where the product name is only used in brand layer packages, anyway,
not in basis layer packages), this looks ugly and redundant. The idea is to
instead explicitly flag basis layer packages and not explicitly flag brand layer
packages. Since there are package name length restrictions for some package
formats, names like "openoffice.org-basis3.0-..." might be too long, so the
desired schema is as follows:

- basis layer packages start with "ooobasis3.0" (e.g.,
ooobasis3.0-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm instead of
openoffice.org3.0-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm)

- brand layer packages have no "brand" in their names (e.g.,
openoffice.org3-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm instead of
openoffice.org3-brand-writer-3.0.0-9999.i586.rpm)
