For instance, in OOo 2.3.1, open three documents, say /tmp/document.odt ~/document.odt /tmp/document.ods In the organizer dialogs, you will see (text icon) document (text icon) document (spreadsheet icon) document That is, all three documents will have the same entry name, too. So, no matter which way we do it, we do it wrong for a certain class of use cases. The question is which hurts more ...
