I have been a long time user of OpenOffice, both the Windows and Linux versions.
Recently I have been using OpenOffice 2.2, Windows version, with which I have
been quite satisfied. Having received notifications that update to OpenOffice
2.4 should be preferential for security reasons, I downloaded OpenOffice
2.4,with which I am dismayed. In comparison to OpenOffice 2.2 I found it to
sluggish, slower, and I found some applications in Impress missing, e. g. the
selection of modes to save graphics or pictures reduced to only two, metafile
and bitmap. The slide transition only easily operable via right mouse button,
etc. I am not a technician, not a programmer, and a user. It just seems
OpenOffice has regressed rather than progressed on facility of use, at least, in
respect to Impress.
