Microsoft Visual C++.net compiler running on Windows Asian language versions sometimes cannot handle properly such localized texts encoded in UTF-8. The compiler seems to interpret a string literal in local encoding same as the encoding in which Windows runs and then seems to fail interpretation. For instance, the compiler running on Windows Japanese seems to expect that string literals are encoded in code page 932, aka Shift JIS, not UTF-8. An article mentioning this problem written in Korean can be found by searching a part of the error messages with the Google. Therefore, this problem seems to happen with not only Japanese but also Korean. =================== Possible Workaround =================== Localized texts could be handled in a normal way. An experimental patch is attached. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
