------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 9 20:09:04 +0000 2008 ------- Out of curiosity, I installed Ooo 3.0 beta on my Intel Mac (Mac OSX 10.4.11, MacBook Pro). 1) It installed ok with one error message that I missed (could not copy something because of lacking write permission in OpenOffice.org 3.0 beta application directory or the likes; clearly this is not overall true). 2) On first startup, Ooo guided me through the wizard; Ooo then proceeded to stay in an infinite hang. I had to force quit the application after several minutes. I did restart immediately afterwards and was again confronted with the same wizard, i.e. previous settings or any memory of previous first startup were lost. Unlike the first time, the application came up without a hitch almost immediately. In summary, this installation worked, but there seems to be some corner case that creates a bad impression; an infinite hang is not a good sign. I am adding 1) for completeness only, because it was the one oddity that occurred. I highly doubt that 1) had anything to do with 2), though, I believe the error was related to me trying to move a window and was simply a finder error message (unable to move the Ooo folder out of the dmg while it was in use; i.e. not related to 2) at all).
