Download site (German version): http://openoffice.bouncer.osuosl.org/?product=OpenOffice.org&os=winwjre&lang=de&version=2.4.0 Downloaded File size: 134.509.028 Bytes Install process starts, the setup files unpack themselves into the given directory, then the message "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" (translated from german message). Checked with System Control that the service "Windows Installer" was started. Stopped the service manually and restarted it. Status switched to "Manual". Tried to install another software, which set up. Then I restarted the OO setup. Same error message. My PC runs Win XP, set up with 2 Admin Accounts (1 for backup reasons) and 2 restricted accounts. I was logged in as Admin. For testing purposes, I turned off Firewall and Virus Check software, but the error still appeared. I then restarted the older OO-2.0 install executable which showed no error. If more details are needed, please request. I'll bookmark this page.
