------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 16 18:40:08 +0000 2008 ------- My requirements seem to be fully met by the new functionality in 2.4 Using Drag & Drop with Alt produces the right result of inserting the displaced cells within a compact block, without over-writing & without gaps. The manipulation (select Alt after dragging but before dropping) is maybe not as intuitive as XL & I guess I would never have found it by trial & error, but I can certainly live with that!
