2008 -------
It is simply a layout bug in OOo2.3, fixed in OOo2.3.1.
You do not need to import a document, you are able to create such problem in
OOo2.3 from scratch.
New document,
insert some empty paragraphs
insert a table (e.g. 3 columns, 10 rows)
enable repeat header for the table
merge cell A2-A10
Insert paragraph above the table until the table has to split because of the
page break
=> Crash (OOo2.3)
Resume: It's not a problem of the document, it's a (already fixed) bug of
OOo2.3.
