It's no bug. It's a feature (autocorrect).
If you do not like this autocorrection you have to disable "Apply border" in the
autocorrect dialog.
This autocorrection replaces the underscore paragraph by an empty paragraph with
a lower border.
If you split this paragraph you will get two paragraphs with lower border (i.e.
two lines)
If you press Ctrl-A and 'del' you will delete all content but not the border
attribute of the first paragraph => the line remains.
If this behavior does not satisfy you, you could propose a better handling and
submit this as a enhancement to the UX-team.
