Couple of notes:

jgfuller: We are suggesting the same keystrokes.   CTRL+SHIFT+Semi-colon =
CTRL+Colon on the keyboard since you have to hit SHIFT+Semi-colon to get a 
Colon :)

Secondly, I agree that just getting this feature in is most important however it
would be nice to see the keystrokes remain the same as MS Office if possible. 
The transition from MSO to OO should be as seamless as possible for the end
users who spend all day working with these tools.  The more OO can ease that
transition by making the interface similar the better.   

Are different keystrokes a deal breaker?  No.  But I also don't think the effort
to keep things as similar as possible is something to be quickly disregarded
either.  If MSO is using these keystrokes for time/date then whatever else OO is
using them for is either a new feature entirely from MSO or those commands are
also similarly displaced from their well known MSO keystrokes.

Just my 2c.  Either/or for my client this is still an annoyance in OO adoption.
