AFAICT a new field type is being used for in-place editing. Why has this
approach been chosen? It means that we cannot benefit from this feature for all
our existing forms and it requires extensions to the ODF format which creates
non-ISO-standard documents.
It would be a lot better for users if they could simply switch existing form
fields to in-place behaviour. I'd go so far to say that no one would complain if
the pop-up UI were completely scrapped in favour of in-place editing. That's
what Word does, after all.
