------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jun 6 08:29:20 +0000 2008 ------- This is reproductible. 1) Create a new Impress file 2) Go to the "Slide mask" mode (Show / Slide Mask) 3) right click > Slide > Define a background image and select the background image (in this case a PNG file locate on the hard disk) 4) save file 5) close and reopen the file There is no more background. After a post on the french user list, another user has the same problem. Hope this helps.
