------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Jun 7 17:02:58 +0000 2008 ------- OpenOffice.org locale is set to "Swedish (Sweden)", Windows set to US English. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a .xls file using Excel 2000 on Windows containing a custom date-formatted column. Specific format string example: DD-MM-YYYY 2. Enter some data, including dates into the column mentioned in (1). 3. Save in Excel 2000's default format ("Microsoft Excel Workbook (*.xls)"). 4. Open the Excel file in OOo Calc (2.3.0/Ubuntu 7.10 x86-64). Dates are now shown with the Linux system's OpenOffice.org locale's default date format, instead of the date format that was specified from within Excel. Now: 5. Re-save the spreadsheet without making any changes. 6. Close and re-open the file from (5), using Excel or Calc. Dates are now (according to Excel) saved as a "custom" format "yyyy-mm-dd". Calc still labels it as a "Date" but has still changed the date format to yyyy-mm-dd. Expected behavior: Calc should import the date format saved in the file that is being opened. If Calc for some reason has to fall back on the locale setting for the date format, then the date format from the file should be preserved when saving unless the format is explicitly changed during the session. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
