Indeed bValue could be uninitialized. But if you look at the code in the caller,
you will see that there *is* an initialization:

    uno::TypeClass eClass = aAny.getValueTypeClass();
    switch (eClass)
    {
        case uno::TypeClass_VOID:
        {
            /*
             * This assertion pops up when exporting values which are set to:
             * PropertyAttribute::MAYBEVOID, and thus are _supposed_ to have
