What would be the horizontal scroll bar if it existed scrolls up through the equation text (sometimes obscuring entire lines). As the vertical scroll bar moves up it ceases to function as a scroll bar and becomes a set of down-arrow icons. On re-opening such an equation, the mouse wheel permits correct scrolling, but the arrow key recreates the problem.
