Tested with OOo 2.4.1rc2 Linux:
it's still possible to export to pdf with an odx extension (if the "automatic
file extension" is unselected) but if you keep the default file name (wich is
the file you're editing there's first a pop-up to remind you that this file
already exists and then if you confirm there's a writing error message.
So, perhaps this behavior is acceptable?
