You missed my point. I'm not suggesting to change how Java itself installs at 
all.
I was suggesting you check before the installation to see if it's needed at 
all. If a newer version is already installed then don't run the Java installer.
The decision you have taken actually INSTALLS security threats and leaves them 
open when they were previously closed.

If you, however, decide to close the issue again that is fine. However, you 
should not consider it closed/resolved as the current situation is one that 
needs to be prevented in the future.

In this case while the previous issue related to 2.4.0 and it was elected to 
leave it since update 5 came out only days before, that was 3 months ago. Now, 
3 months later the decision of 3 months ago still leaves it out of date and 
installs old code under 2.4.1. A check of whether the item needs to be 
installed would remove that portion of the problem.
