------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Jun 15 13:40:55 +0000 2008 ------- I couldn't find out how to reopen #88946, so I'm posting this as a new bug. Basically I've the same problem, only no passwords are involved at all. I have a bunch of Writer documents on a Samba server and two client boxes. As long as I create and edit documents from the same box, everything is fine. However, when I create a document on one box and later make an edit on the other the document becomes corrupted. It can then not be opened from either sytem, with a variety of symptoms ranging from an I/O error message, a Dialog to select the file format to a repair prompt. It usually takes a few open attempts to get the repair prompt, but that usually works fine. To my knowledge I haven't lost any data. The first few times I thought maybe I had mistakenly tried to edit a file concurrently. Shouldn't cause corruption either, but still ... But the bug even happens when I manually close all open OOo documents and SMB connections on the "original" box, shut it down completely and restart samba on the server. A subsequent edit on the "other" box will still corrupt the file. Maybe it's the version difference, maybe the platform difference between the clients but either way it shouldn't happen und did use to work fine ... please advise on how I can help fix this. Setup as follows: Client 1: Windows XPsp2, OOo 2.3.1 Client 2: Ubuntu 8.04, OOo 2.4.0 Server: Debian testing, Samba 3.0.30-2 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
