------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jun 18 02:59:24 +0000 2008 ------- Hi all I have a reproducaible problem with outline numbering in OOo 2.4.0 on Ubuntu Hardy. This problem has also been present in earlier versions, and is also apparent in old documents that are opened with OOo 3.0beta on Max OS X. The problem is that heading number does not correctly work when a document is saved and loaded again. To reproduce: * Create new writer document. * Enter on separate lines: H1, h11, h12, H2, h21, h22 * Format the lines starting with 'H' as Heading 1 * Format the lines starting with 'h' as Heading 2. * Right-click the first H1, and click 'Numbering/Bullets...'. * On the 'Outline' tab, select '1, 1.1, 1.1.1,...' At this point, the headings all become numbered and you can happily add new headings and the numbering will be updated correctly as expected. Now, * Save the document * Reopen the document * Attempt to add a new line after h12, entering it as 'H1b'. * Apply Heading 1 style to the new heading. Now, the heading numbering will be incorrect. Both 'H1b' and 'H1' will both have the number '1'. Furthermore, to show that there is something bad happening at the lower levels of numbering also, * Add a new line before 'h21' * Enter 'h000' * Apply Heading 2 style to the new heading. Now, the line 'h000' will have the number '1.1', and following headings will not be renumbered. I will attach a document showing the result of these tests.
