If you have the form 'photo_input' open, then open the table 'species' and add a new species, the species list in the listbox on the form does not update, even after the species table is saved and the form refreshed. To get the list to update, the form has to be closed and re-opened before the changes to the species table are visible in the list box. In version 2.3.1, simply refreshing the form updated the listbox. Please note this is a very truncated database. The full database has about 6 or 7 related tables and all updates are done by the use of forms. The same problem occurs in 2.4.1 whichever form is used for updating and refreshing. Hope this is now clearer.
