This one seems to be caused either by a system-level conflict between two versions of Lucida Sans, or bad fonts (incorrect internal names and/or weights). Though I'm not on Linux, such a situation will confuse most apps on XP, and I've already seen at least one Lucida set with completely screwed up internal names.
