In WordPerfect, when you convert text to initial capitals, the first letter of 
each word is 
capitalized, except for articles, prepositions, conjunctions, and some pronouns.

If you want to specify additional capitalization exceptions, you can edit the 
exceptions 
file. (Mine contains: and by for in is it its of on the this to with)

Ideally, OpenOffice should implement this in the GUI as it does for 
abbreviations and 
words with two initial capitals in the AutoCorrect interface.
