Basically the conversion path from WMF to SVG does not work reliably with some real files. I used unoconv python script (http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/unoconv/) to convert a simple wmf symbol file create with adobe illustrator and compared with the SVG output from Illustrator. I'll try to attach example files if I can after I submit this bug. If not we have several examples we can email. The background of this is accessibility but a general path from WMF to SVG would be a killer feature for many people, including education. So far the only good tool we have found is Meta Fly. The market People who use symbols for communication is tied to Windows and proprietary tools and symbols sets. A group of us at Oatsoft.org wish to make symbols open and so for those that we can we want to convert to SVG, enabling them to be used on the web etc. (In addition a new open set is being created at straight-street.com) These symbols should also be useful as icons and/or clipart and other open image sources. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
