2005 -------
By default, OOo uses the UI font of the system(mostly under GNOME) since 
1.1.3.  
But it seems that OOo UI is displaying nothing in zh_CN under GNOME. 
 
That is because the default font of GNOME is "Sans", which will be mapped into  
actual font name by fontconfig. Unfortunately, OOo seems to not providing lang  
properties when requiring font from fontconfig. That means, the 1st font 
listed  
in Sans alternative will be used no matter whether it covers Chinese or not.
