------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jul 11 15:35:44 +0000 2008 ------- I am running Ooo 2.4.1 under opensuse 11.0 on an x86_64 AMD machine. I have an nvidia graphics card (there are issues w/ the nvidia linux driver). The problem described here occurs in Ooo 2.4.0 and 2.4.1, as well as the most current and immediately prior nvidia driver (the one provided by nvidia itself, not the open source driver) available for opensuse. When running an OOo component, elements of the KDR taskbar (running apps, the start menu, widgets) flicker from looking normal to being black or with some bizarre colors when I move the mouse over them. In the upper-right corner of the kde4 desktop there's an amoeba that activates the plasma dashboard. This icon has the similar odd behavior. If I quit OOo, the problem basically stops. The problem is much worse in oowriter than when running oocalc and ooimpress. In the latter two, all that happens is a little space between open windows on the taskbar blinks black. But w/ oowriter it's pretty bad. I don't know if this is an issue w/ OOo, KDE4, opensuse, or nvidia drivers. I'll let other know.
