attached patch is another solution for old gperf. Of course you need to add
CONFIGURE_ARGS+= --with-gperf=${LOCALBASE}/bin/gperf
and
BUILD_DEPENDS+= gperf:${PORTSDIR}/devel/gperf
to your port and recreate configure with autoconf.
