I would suggest this to be a good target: XHTML™ Modularization 1.1
W3C Proposed Recommendation 11 June 2008, http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml-
modularization It includes both DTD and XSD Schema.

I like XHTML + MathML, and recently did the same simple embedding for Meta Data
Object Schema (MODS) (bibliographic references), i.e. XHTML (1.0) + MODS. See

@sus
I have some philiosophical concerns about the persistance of RDFa, as one might
expect from the creator of http://purl.org/pii/terms/ The W3C WG just
published an implementation report
<http://www.w3.org/2006/07/SWD/RDFa/implementation-report/> last month.  I've
not had time to get into their test cases, etc.

Other than that the issues you mention are probably oversights ('mistake' is a
harsh word) which I would appreciate you correct as you see fit.

BTW, MSXSLx.DLL is the culprit. The XML Name Space is "built in" so that when
you validate you run into the same problem that you have with an XLINK schema
in two different locations (e.g. with XHTML + MathML). One must "include" the
same XLINK schema location for both XHTML and MML schema modules, otherwise
there is a name space collision. With the MS Parser, there is no way to avoid
duplicate (XML) schema locations. You can't "override" a name space. Sorry
for the confusing explanation, I'm nowhere near an expert.
