At deployment one can check if the correct java is being used and display a warning if not. However, the selected Java, can be used at any time. 2. The java-uno bridge should map the java exceptions java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError, java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError to particular uno exceptions. But then, where are these to be caught? A caller does not know that a service needs java. 2v1. Use the interaction mechanism, which is already used when no java is installed/ or it is defect. However, this would have to be done for every thread.
