------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 7 13:34:50 +0000 2008 ------- I had the following behaviour (XP SP2), apologies if this an issue on my machine and not caused by the OO installer. I had OO 2.4 installed, installed 3.0beta2, had them both for a while, then uninstalled 2.4, and I lost file associations, i.e., double-clicking an OO file opened the "Open with" dialog box prompting me to choose an application. More annoyingly, although I tried to select both calc.exe and soffice.exe to open .ods files, they never appeared in the app list, meaning I could not fix the file associations myself. I tried uninstalling 3.0b2 and reinstalling it, to see if this would fix the file associations, to no avail. I uninstalled 3.0b2, installed 2.4, uninstalled 2.4, installed 3.0b2. File associations worked again for 2.4, but after it is uninstalled, it seems 3.0b2 does not register the filetypes, regardless of having 2.4 uninstalled before or after installing 3.0b2. Bottom line, although I felt 3.0b2 was mature enough to replace 2.4, I went back to the latter because of this issue.
