------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Aug 24 08:03:30 +0000 2008 ------- Using large documents in the odm (global document ?) mode leads to an unusable application when switching to page preview (to e.g. find empty pages). If the bug occurs, the application takes lots of CPU power and is NOT (or at least nearly NOT) responsive any more. Clicking e.g. the "close page view" button ends up in a "white line" below the title line. If lucky, the button is handled after a while (e.g. 5 minutes), but sometimes, also that does not help. In this case the application needs to be killed by task manager. (See attached screenshot of the SysinternalsProcessExplorer performance graph). If the button works the user can go on working the document until reopening the page preview again. The PC - Laptop Toshiba Tecra S3 (single core) - 2GB of memory - 1400x1280 pixel The documents facts. - Approx. 480 pages - Approx. 400 images (png) linked (not cloned) into the document - Approx. 70 sub documents (see screenshot - statistics.png) attached Options/Memory configuration : see memory.png attached Steps to create to problem - Load that kind of document - Switch to page preview - Configure to show 8 pages / page - Scroll down using the keyboard (page down button) Application gets stuck after a short while. Unfortunately I cannot provide the document as this contains confidential information. Could you give me a hint, how to e.g. make the text unreadable (by e.g. replacing all word with a meaningless content). In this case I could attach the document. Note that I have splitted the document into a global document to be able to rework smaller portions of text files. I had problems with the complete document in one file as well, but the did never endup in an unusable application though. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
