Some remarks about it:

1) We improved the cross-references dialog in the current beta  version:
http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/

So please have a look at it. Some of your problems my be solved there.

2) The main change is the ability to refer to numbered paragraphs and headings.

... for "what's new".

3) In a general manner, we cannot accept reports addressing different problems:
1 problem = 1 isssue. Please file different issues for each of those problems if
they still remain in the current version.

4) What you describe are not defects but enhancements. Please flag them as is in
the corresponding field.
