No, the problem just depends on the speed of idle-formatter and the 
spellchecker. As msicotte 
mentioned the integration with OSX's native spellchecker can be made faster. 
But the the real problem 
is that computation-intensive background tasks shouldn't impact tasks that are 
critical for interactivity.

See above. Even if there is no spellchecking involved some heavy layouting 
tasks can make the problem 
obvious.
