stumbled over this again since I just encountered the assertion again, with
another topic. There, the assertion is raised about 20 times before the help
actually opens.
There once was an agreement in development to fix assertion issues which make
working with the non-product version no-fun in the next feasible release, so I
take the liberty to target this to 3.1.
