A more recent version of ZopeEditManager may be found at
http://www.urbanape.com/software/ZopeEditManager_0.9.7.html
if you wish, but the assumption in the preceding comment

> that this "ZopeEditManager" uses OOo as an editor in this case and
> removes the edited files when it assumes OOo is finished with them.

is almost certainly correct.

As background:
http://plone.org/products/zope-externaleditor-client
and AFAIK both ZopeEditManager (preferred for Mac OS X) and Zope External
Editor Client (preferred
for Linux and Windows) are based on Zope External Editor
http://plope.com/software/ExternalEditor

http://plope.com/software/ExternalEditor/README.txt refers to the cleanup_files
option and in
ZopeEditManager we have what is probably a corresponding preference to 'Cleanup
Files' (this is
enabled).

> If set to 1, that file is deleted at the earliest opportunity, before the

but that aspect

* refers to the .zem file (which simply includes the WebDAV URL etc. of the
file)

* evidently does _not_ refer to the checked-out copy of the file.

FWIW there's an option to choose the location for temporary files, and I have
it set to
/private/tmp
which works with other external editors.

Summary:

* edits are saved, and the saved file is checked in to the WebDAV server, it's
simply the warning from
OOo that's unexpected.

Thanks for your attention :)

Graham
