I am filing this as a new issue because 93864 was filed specifically against the Macintosh platform, but this does not appear to be a Macintosh platform or porting issue as I have reproduced it on Linux. You probably want to close one or the other as a duplicate. Global PPD files (with multiple translations embedded in the PPD file) are not translated. This includes the PPD files distributed with CUPS 1.3 and probably also CUPS 1.2, and the forthcoming Gutenprint 5.2 release. I am the project lead for Gutenprint, so this issue is of significant concern to me, as with the default configuration users of languages other than English will experience a regression. The method of reproduction was LANG=fr_FR soffice letter.odt Using a print queue with a globalized PPD file, the option values all appeared in English. If I switched to a queue with a French-specific PPD file, the option values appear in French.
