The pdf/a export function on an empty writer document (or one with one line of
text (default font)) creates a pdfa file which does not conform to the pdfa
standard according to the pdfa validator from pdf-tools.com. The
(java)API/evaluation version of the validator was used. It shows the following
error messages:

ErrorCode; ErrorMessage; PageNumber; Count
-2143223034; The "Length" key of the stream object is wrong; 0; 1
4294153; The key S has a value Transparency which is prohibited; 1; 1
-2092890606; The document does not conform to the requested standard; 1; 1

The following steps have to be done:
1. Create a new (default empty) document in the Writer
2. "Export to pdf", check "pdf/a-1" if not already checked
3. Validate the pdfa file with the "3-Heights PDF Validator API" from
pdf-tools.com, version "VALA180PreWIN32Eval.zip (build 1.8.8.1, 22. 9. 2008)"
URL = http://www.pdf-tools.com/asp/products.asp?name=PDFvalidator

For convenience, I packed the above eval version from my java eclipse project
together and add it as an attachment. Also the OOo generated export pdfa is
attached separatly.
