This seems to be the old problem: the printer icons create a document which is
not a native envelope format but an envelope plus borders which results in a so
called user format. Rotating such user defined formats leads to strange results
with certain printer drivers. New to me is, that this happens on Linux as well
which speaks against the (Windows) driver theory.
So, what exactly does not work under Linux ?
