Dear TML,

I'm also a programmer from the Windows platform and switched my focus in 1998
to Linux development. I don' think I am expecting too much, but I understand
your concern. I think that in fact, this one issue is THE main reason why most
professionals who regularly use computers at work are refusing to adopt any
version of Linux with much enthusiasm. There is a great wealth of apps out for
Linux, so the old argument about the number of apps no longer applies. But if
this problem can be resolved it will go a long way in helping corporate offices
to adopt some flavor of Linux and to eventually drop Windows altogether. While
other Word Processing software does exist for Linux, OO.o is by far the most
popular one. So I think that there is a great deal of responsibility resting
upon your (Sun's and the rest of the volunteers) shoulders.

Many people have pointed out this flaw to me and have expressed great wrath
over the layout changes.

I know this is a tough problem to solve, but it is very worthwhile.

Arthur Baldwin
