To avoid the possibility of a Java conflict you can get an OpenOffice
installation file without Java from:
for 2.4.1
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/680/OOH680_m17/Build-1/
for 3.0
http://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/devel/OOO300/OOO300_m9/Build-2/
Worksforme with Win XP SP3 and Java 1.6.0 using both 2.4.1 and 3.0. I've
removed all other Java versions, but if you have more, you may need to select
one with:
Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org > Java check Use a Java runtime, wait for the
installed versions to appear and check one of them.
Please try one or other of these methods and advise whether the problem is
resolved.
