------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Oct 23 13:50:42 +0000 2008 ------- In the Win32 2.4 series you could install silently with msiexec and the command line switches for making OO the default application for office documents, for example: msiexec /qn /i openofficeorg24.msi SELECT_WORD=1 SELECT_EXCEL=1 made OpenOffice 2.4 the default application for files with .doc and .xls extensions. Now in the Win32 3.0.0 the command line swithces seem to be not effective any more, for example: msiexec /qn /i openofficeorg30.msi SELECT_WORD=1 SELECT_EXCEL=1 does not make OOo 3.x the default application for .doc and .xls files, and it is easily overridden by Microsoft Word Viewer and Micrsoft Excel Viewer. Please in the 3.x series restore the behaviour of SELECT_WORD=1/0 and SELECT_EXCEL=1/0 installation command line switches so that OpenOffice.org 3.0.0 can be deployed silently to hundreds of workstations and selected or unselected as the default application for office files without having to do this interactively.
