------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Oct 24 03:50:47 +0000 2008 ------- Summary: Currently I cannot copy only part of a cell in a read-only document. E.g. suppose the cell contains the text: "The quick brown fox", and I want to copy just the "brown fox" part of the cell onto the clipboard. Currently this does not seem to be possible in read-only mode. Steps to describe problem: 1) Open a read-only spreadsheet in OO Calc 2.4.1 2) Click on a cell I want to copy part of, to make it active. 3) Go to the "input line" field, and try and highlight just the substring of the cell that I want. 4) Get a popup error message: "Document opened in read-only mode." 5) Click the "OK" button 6) Try (again) to highlighting just substring of the cell that I want. 7) Cannot highlight. Therefore, cannot copy a part of the cell; can only copy the whole cell. What would ideally happen: * Instead of 7), part of the cell contents could be highlighted, and copied to the clipboard. * If at all possible, the dialog box from 4) and 5) would not appear unless trying to actually modify the contents of the the cell. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
