Adding a language to the language list box makes it available for character attribution and spell-checking. Availability of spell checker, hyphenation and thesaurus of course depends on the installed dictionaries. To be able to fully support it as a locale, including number formats and calendar data, and having it selectable as default document language we would need a locale data file. Locale data files can quite easily be generated with the generator available at http://www.it46.se/localegen/ For technical details and semantics of elements please see the generator's documentation and the comments in the locale data DTD file http://svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/trunk/i18npool/source/localedata/data/locale.dtd and as a sample locale data file for example the en_US locale http://svn.services.openoffice.org/ooo/trunk/i18npool/source/localedata/data/en_US.xml If you want to create and contribute a locale data file for Tok Pisin (tpi_PG) you can either - Create the locale data file using the generator, submit a new issue for the l10n component, subcomponent localedata, where you tell me that it is available. I would then contact Alberto, whom you granted the right to contribute your data, see http://www.it46.se/localegen/copyright.php - Or create the locale data file, submit a new issue for the l10n component, subcomponent localedata, and attach the generated file to that issue. Please note that to integrate code or data contributed we need a signed Contributor Agreement form (SCA) filled-out, see http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Sun_Contributor_Agreement This would be the preferred way if you plan to do other contributions that would need a signed SCA as well.
