More recently I have downloaded versions 2.4 and 3 to find that spellcheck does not work on new files. I have one file that was created in version 1 and I opened in versions 2.4 and 3 and the spellcheck works. Spellcheck appears to fail in newly created files. This defect applies to auto- spellcheck and manually activated spellcheck. I cannot identify a facility to attach copies of indicative files with this report, hence their absence.
