------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Oct 27 21:37:40 +0000 2008 ------- When converting letter grades (..., B-, B, B+, ...) to grade points (..., 2.67, 3.00, 3.33, ...) with a search criterion ending in "+" (B+, say), I expected vlookup to return a number ending in x.33 (3.33, say). In the demonstration file: Panel 1 shows the error when the lookup table is sorted by column A (Grade) and sort order=1. Panel 2 shows the error when the lookup table is sorted by column B (Points) and sort order = 0. In both situations, vlookup returns the next smaller value (3.00), as if the search criterion was B, say, even when the previous row should return 3.67, say! I will post a demonstration file as soon as possible.
