As an editor I often work with documents that contain bibliographies created in something like Endnote, and I need to unlink all the fields to make them normal text. It is an issue not just for mailmerge fields but for all fields. I am attaching a simple document containing some fields to illustrate what is needed. I have voted for this issue.
