------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Nov 6 07:24:30 +0000 2008 ------- My Gentoo Linux built openoffice (built without gtk nor qt) could not correctly display Chinese file names (display these names as junk text). It seems to because ooo doesn't understand my locale de_DE.utf8. The same (doesn't work) for de_DE.UTF-8. If openoffice start in en_US.UTF-8 the Chinese filenames are displayed correctly in "File Open" Window. I guess de_DE.utf8 is not in the list of recognized locales for OOO (when built without gtk/qt). So 1) what is the locale in German language acceptable for OOO built without gtk/qt or is it generally recommended to either build with gt or with gtk? 2) if it can be identified as a bug will this locale be added to OOO in the future? Thanks and I am sure I filed duplicated bug (only I don't know how to find the original bug) so sorry if it again took your QA staff time to mark this duplicate.
